The start of our walk down to the coast shows how far we have to go down
Lemon trees covered in nets, everywhere on our holiday
Stunning views of the terraces
We've hardly started our descent and we're feeling it
We join the path of Abu Tabela, an Italian general who fought in the Punjab, made a fortune and returned to Naples
We're not used to the 22 degrees, so a break for fresh lemon juice here is very welcome
We come across this on our path
A sizeable structure. We speculate.
It's a long way down to the sea
At the end of the monorail is this device, which was constructed, according to Severio, our guide, to move disabled people up the hillside, but now used for transporting goods etc. Do I believe him, or is he winding us up?
2000 of the steps come in one long flight
You can see them below.
Lunch in the bar. The bar owner takes a few people down to Amalfi in his car while the rest of us continue our descent.
Blue sea below
The Cathedral in Amalfi. Most are put off by yet more steps and have an ice-cream
I explore the crypt
And the main Cathedral
The dome is covered in tiles, like lots of the churches we saw.
We assemble at the roundabout in the middle of Amalfi
