With Vesuvius closed yesterday because of the wind, the 9 of us who opted for a trip to Capri are apprehensive about the boat ride
But Richard and Di are smiling for the camera
It's freezing, and we huddle together like penguins (Ron, please note!)
Our boat looks fairly substantial.
We pass interesting strata
And the rocks of Capri
Those who sat at the back get wet
Capri harbour is busy, but our driver finds us and takes up to Anacapri.
The chairlift is closed because of the wind, so we mooch around the shops. Many tiles like this.
Spot the shoppers!
After a couple of hours and lunch, we are taken into the town of Capri.
We pass the gardens of Augustus
Ceramic signs are everywhere in this part of Italy
It is almost impossible to get together for a photo because of the Japanese tourists with selfie-sticks.
Narrow carts are used to transport goods down the narrow streets.
Meanwhile Peter and Sue walk to Praiano and back. We set off steeply downhill from Bomerano towards Praiano past a herd of goats
fter a couple of hours we reach the village where there are plenty of flowers
More steps
Eventually we explore the village and enjoy a coffee in a cafe, despite being told it was too early in the season for cafes to be open
Heading back uphill we come across a working Monorail transporting fodder and cement up the steep hill
Taking a breather we look towards the Island of Capri in the distance where most of the rest of the group are today. We can also see Positano on the right where we were a few days ago
Further up we join the Path of the Gods and have a welcome lunch at this cafe
We are pleased to get back to the hotel to get warm and to eat another excellent meal
The chef cooks Peter peppers, something he does like!
