As leader on the pre Christmas walk
You have certain standards to maintain
And Sally has donned her best headgear
As has Brian
So we set off across the Common
Views down into the valley
Approaching Half Way House
And continuing over the golf course
Round the Bulwarks
Local philosopher has been at work
Somebody else enjoying the Common
Minchinhampton Church in front of us
Time to stop for a tipple supplied by Sally and Keith
And cake supplied by Francesca
Continuing, we walk on a special surface installed to protect the Common
Past the old dairy
And along a muddy track
Now walking along the side of the valley
Looking across to Stroud from Besbury Common
We then cross a field
Coming out onto the Common
And head back across to the start
A last look at the ultimate in
Sartorial elegance
And we repair to the Black Horse where a group of cyclists
Are parading in their Christmas gear
