Spring has arrived in Avening - view of the school and church
Over 30 of us are ready for John's walk
Climbing up towards Steps Lane the view back over to the church
We are being watched
Good morning
Completing our climb we cross the road
and turn back towards ...
.. the Golf Course
We wait to cross the fairway together
We pass the practice range
A handy device to pick up all the balls
We cross the course and descend
To the quaint stile in the wall
Which we all manage to use without incident
An irresistible window of opportunity
With views over the garden
John takes us past "The Roundabout" trees
And it is delicious cake time - John's recipe will be on the Messages Page next week!
Pretty dry under foot this morning
Along a potholed lane
Past some fake animals
And some real!
Good job there is a wide verge
We head back on the Macmillan Way
Over an ancient stone stile
They look friendly
Even the larger one
Views over to Gatcombe Park
We descend through the churchyard
And thank John and Ron for the walk and the backmarking.
