Avening walk - Wednesday 8 June 2016 Previous Next Why is everyone looking at Olivia? She's not leading Avening looking colourful today. Past wild roses Lots of black lambs A mass of buttercups Very well-marked path Pea (or bean?) shoots Where we could buy this dovecote for less than £163.60? Won't fit in my rucksack. Back markers Jane and Graham doing a sterling job And we eventually arrive in Tetbury. No-one opts for a makeover. Because this construction work seems to be in the way of our usual path After a lunch in the shade, we continue We wait for everyone to catch up, taking advantage of the shade again, everyone flagging a bit in the heat. Getting close to our destination But the non-functioning water fountain adds insult to injury on this hot day. John is. He checks his watch. We head up through the churchyard on this incredibly humid day And cultivated climbing ones. Very cute A procession through a flat field This kissing gate doesn't look very accessible We come out by Chavenage House Past dairy cows among the buttercups John clears the way into the wood We have to walk up the A433 A few poppies in the wheat Unusual horse jumps A field of barley We can spot part of this beautiful garden below Photos, captions and processing by Sally, uploaded by Mike
