Barrow Wake walk - Saturday 25 August 2018 Previous Next One thing about starting from Barrow Wake is the great views Across to the Forest And down the Cotswolds Andrew leads us out along the top of the hill And into the woods Where the sun shines through the trees A field of sheep Followed by fields of straw bales awaiting collection Making the most of a fine spell With rain forecast for tomorrow We stop and watch A lot of activity As tractors scurry around the field picking up bales As we continue one of them follows us down the wide track Continuing along the top of the hill Past a farmhouse Stopping for coffee Future Grand National winner Now on a stoney track Taking us to a road A spotty horse in quarantine Following the Cotswold Way Into woods Coming out, we have views of the Malverns And across Gloucester to May Hill We stop at the information centre on Crickley Hill Before making our way round the top Looking down the valley to Witcombe Lakes Getting ready to cross the A417 at the Air Balloon Before we make our way back uphill to the cars Photos and captions by Richard, uploaded by Sally
