Berkeley walk - Wednesday 21 December 2016 Previous Next Outside the Salutation - Camra pub of the year Not for us We cross the river Heading towards Berkeley We wait while the others cross a difficult stile in the gate Then round by the castle And across the meadows Following the river Bringing up the rear. Must be Christmas Crossing over the river And along the other side A stubble field leads across into Stone Didn't have those in my school playground Reaching the church Then a short road stretch Which we soon leave to pass trees full of Mistletoe Over a bridge - a bit slippery Deep mud in this gateway The culprits watch us from a distance Continuing across fields What's going on behind the hedge? Climbing up to the Deer Park Where there are plenty of signs keeping us on the straight and narrow And a few deer in the distance A pond on the top Striding out across the Park Before heading downhill Looking over to the Severn As we head back into Ham Olivia checks that we have all arrived safely A welcoming sign Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
