Birdlip walk - Saturday 25 January 2020 Previous Next All As we leave Birdlip an old farmhouse looms out of the mist And we make our way into a valley Struggling over a stile Giving the horses something to watch Some boot washing to do tonight We make our way uphill Two old men of the soil discuss an old tractor dating back to 1957 We now head down the valley A bit of flooding here We cross a stream Then walk along the banks of a small pond And continue on a wide track Following the valley Until it's time for bananas Then on to Syde And into the churchyard Aconites Leaving Syde we head steeply downhill Then heading up another valley Soon climbing out Pausing for lunch as we enter woodland Then following a muddy track Back into the valley Round Caudle Green Not getting a lot of use That's what all the noise was about Transport for the shooters in front of us Early primroses Through Brimpsfield back to Birdlip.
