Brookend Walk - Saturday 21 January 2017 Previous Next An elegant dismount from the stile by Sally Continuing on our way by walking the plank Over a stubble field One way of avoiding a stile It's a frosty morning As we head towards Purton Approaching a gate at the bottom of the field To reach Purton Church Over the Canal A charitable display Now at the Purton Hulks With the remains of the boats which destroyed the old bridge visible at low tide Patrick explains the working of the old railway bridge Some remains still visible behind us Our route takes us past the home of SARA And the Vindicatrix memorial Over the entrance to the canal Then past the entrance to the docks To our lunch stop at the picnic area By the side of the docks Then along the Severn Way Along a raised embankment Which we leave, passing a farm Then across fields back to the start Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
