Cainscross Canal leisurely walk - Monday 2 January 2017 Previous Next Ann addresses 47 keen New Year walkers on a brilliantly sunny morning The hydro electric generator using the power of the Frome which flows along the canal at this point We head down to the canal We go under the bridge and head west Note the date of the gear, 2011 We approach Ebley Mill In crocodile formation Passing new houses And ones as old as the canal All aboard! The amazing Ryeford Double Locks All wrapped up on this frosty morning Ducks seem happy enough Reflections ... ... from a couple of bridges A new smart sign - but which way is the Cotswold Way? A good place to have a coffee stop Past a community apple orchard including Ashmead's Kernel On the cycle track Most cross the bypass, while a few cut back to the cars We head towards Stroud Along the old LMS track bed And finish at the base of Rodborough Hill Passing the Clothiers Arms They don't make factories like this any more!
