Castle Combe walk - Wednesday 15 January 2020 Previous Next All Someone got new boots for Christmas! Derek explains that once again the walk has had to be altered because of flooding But we set across the golf course Where we see signs of said flooding This little stream a raging torrent We cross the bridge Water over the golf course In fact, water everywhere We pass through woods and spot this interloper Fortunately we're not now heading for that bridge We follow roads to Nettleton Post office and Village stores, now closed Continuing on roads We head for the church Through the churchyard And inside, where we stop for coffee We notice electrical plugs in each pew, with an assortment of heaters plugged in. This church has no other form of heating! But it does have a composting toilet With instructions We set off along more roads Then head back to Nettleton Mill Derek rings the warning bell for the golfers And breaks it! But its clanger is re-attached and we continue Past a steep break in the trees Back at Castle Combe, the boots have now been christened. Photos, captions and uploading by Sally
