Chedworth walk - Saturday 22 February 2020 Previous Next All Jill gets the show on the road on Chedworth Aerodrome Soon having a brief pause as we cross a road Chance for me to continue with my new photography project Taking photos of ladies taking photos of GPO pillar boxes We follow a woodland track Past snowdrops And head along the top of the hill Coming out with views of Withington Down into the village Past the Old Mill With its mill stream We leave the village Some early blossom More snowdrops and beehives Following the River Coln A stone garden ornament And a wooden one Get dressed or catch your death of cold - and watch out for the spider We follow the road along the old railway To reach the river again Meandering through the meadows As it heads down the valley A pause for coffee Casey Compton across the fields Flooding From the swollen river We start uphill More flooding down the valley It's been a hard walk and some decide to take a shortcut back The rest of us carry on through woods keeping an eye open for Robin Hood On along the track And yes there was plenty of mud But the end is in sight And we are rewarded with views across the rolling Cotswold countryside Back onto the aerodrome - could those be mangel wurzels? We spot the cars And are soon gratefully getting out of muddy boots Photos and captions by Richard, uploaded by Sally
