Christmas Market walk - Saturday 10 December 2016 Previous Next Hoods up. Umbrellas up. John has picked a wet day for his walk. We cross the Sharpness Canal Must be the time of year Reaching the Severn We turn up into Hempsted - interesting high tide mark Can't be clearer than that Hempsted graveyard And church We head across fields to an old well Not much water in it now A pause while we admire the Hempsted rubbish tip Spot the seagulls We reach the road Obviously political but not sure what the artist is getting at More graffiti And a burnt-out warehouse Llanthony Secunda Priory Reaching the docks Pleasure boats lined up Then into the Christmas Market Where you can buy anything Or even ice skate That's blocked our way back But we have to wait for stragglers Plenty of rubbish talked on our walks Now heading along the canal Don't get in front of the leader We pass some fishermen Eventually reaching Rea Bridge And cross the canal To get back to the cars and mince pies supplied by John (pastry and mincemeat made by John!)
