Christmas market walk - Saturday 16 December 2017 Previous Next Leaving the car park at Rea Bridge John leads us along the Canal towards Gloucester Plenty of Gloucester's history on the boat - owned by an ex Chelsea supporter? Won't get a smile out of this lot Old boats laid up And continuing towards the city docks Funny face painted on the swing bridge Old lightship in the docks A name to think about Mike thinking back to his skating days A pirate chest? Not a bad restaurant apparently Over a wooden bridge An ancient well Our path takes us through Hempsted Churchyard Along a stretch of road Must be the Severn Over the canal Christmas is here And mince pies Passing fishermen and sailors Passing a swing bridge Something to do with Christmas apparently Making our way round the basin Cats everywhere Old warehouses across the canal Nearing the docks but the swing bridge has been lifted Bridge on its way down As we watch the activity Leaving the docks the crew of the Bearded Dwarf pose for a photo Now on the edge of Hempsted Tip John waiting for us to catch up Looking towards May Hill Past the church Better have a whip round just in case we forget Another bridge awaits Somebody been out distributing Winter Walk Festival leaflets Along with port Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
