We set off from Coaley Peak in the mist and walked along the edge of the tall maize field towards Nympsfield
Sue Clark couldn’t identify this blue one but my app has no trouble it’s Alfalfa or Lucerne.
From Cockadilly we descend into the Uley valley. The woods are very lush on a wet day
Along the top we head for Hetty Peglars Tump
Where Sue inspects the Tumulus
Across West Hill we descend into Coaley Wood where Sue J shows Sue C the Broadleafed Helleborines which are nearly over now
Sue can’t resist a photo
Half way around Uley Bury we sit down for coffee and Jill produces two types of delicious Welsh cakes (sorry no photos)
Then up onto Smallpox Hill where the Haw berries are looking good
Views from the top are misty
After a lunch stop on Cam Long Down we head back through Coaley Wood and find a garden with Tea and Scones! Then head back up to the cars at Coaley Peak.
