Coaley Peak walk - Saturday 7 October 2017 Previous Next From our starting point at Coaley Peak we can look across the Severn And down the valley to Stinchcombe Hill and Dursley Brian is ready to go in his fetching Dursley Welcomes Walkers fluorescent jacket And Karen joins us briefly representing DWW We enter Woodchester Park watched by a small flock of Jacobs Sheep Making our way downhill Towards the Mansion On past the lakeside boat house Leaving the Park we head into Inchbrook and past the Roman Catholic Church Along a quiet lane Pausing at what was the Poor Clares' Convent, then a night club, now in the hands of the Receiver A vineyard on our left Now on a footpath past a small pond Catching sight of the vineyard across the valley Before entering South Woodchester And meeting one of the residents And another one as we continue through the village Past the old Post Office Unusual house name plate And an unusual house name. Do beggars roost? Now plodding uphill To Selsley Common where we have views up the valley to the Malverns Lunch stop Now downhill To the Cotswold Way Which we follow with views to May Hill Brian still wearing the Dursley Welcomes Walkers jacket Mother and baby And another We head uphill past the Long Barrow and back to the cars Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
