Coaley Peak walk - Wednesday 15 November 2017 Peter took this photo of the view from Coaley Peak* A rainbow appeared at the start of the walk* It's a rainbow. Pot of gold somewhere near Frocester Could be a pot at each end. We gather at Coaley Peak May Hill poking out of the mist As we stand on one of the viewpoints and look down the Cotswolds with Downham Hill in the distance Cam Long Down also in sight Farmers busy in the fields As we walk through Nympsfield Watched suspiciously Past Cockadilly and into the woods Down into the valley Another busy farmer Looking back up the valley Clear blue sky Tree has been around a few years And the old stone bridge Coffee in Owlpen Churchyard With those owls on the roof that must be Owlpen Manor Must have been something we said Continuing along a wide track Up the valley Which we soon leave Following a steep track A pause at the top Then across fields Through a farmyard Newmarket in front of us as we make our way down into the valley Then back up as we are confronted by a beech tree in full Autumn colour Brian makes himself comfortable for lunch Climbing back uphill we pass two trees growing together - a maple and a hawthorn Continuing along the side of the valley Entering Nympsfield Past the church with its Lychgate A fungussy tree Back to Coaley Peak Previous Next Photos and captions by Richard (and Peter*), processed and uploaded by Sally
