Coombe Hill walk - Saturday 6 August 2016 Previous Next Sunglasses and shorts to the fore as Andrew waits in a layby on the A38 And we make our way through a farm Before our first encounter with a field of maize Which gets worse before we fight our way out At last we are out in an open field Crossing a bridge into the nature reserve A family of swans come out to welcome us A bird hide off to our right The path following a disused canal And lined with Osier Trees Coffee is a time for relaxing Before we continue along the path Lots of colour Never miss a chance to sit down A short road walk takes us over the river Chelt And we catch a brief glimpse of the Severn Before we take to the fields again A bit of deep undergrowth to fight our way through Looking back to the Wainlodes In front a church And to help us on our way the Ramblers have been busy Not sure what is going on here - the end of the lunch break Up a slight hill Pausing at the top to take in the view Once more over the Chelt Once more over the Chelt Leader Andrew helps us through an electric fence Yet another field of maize to fight our way through Teasels growing by the side of a stream Finally we are back in the car park Photos and captions by Richard, processed by Sally, uploaded by Sally and Mike
