Cowcombe Hill walk - Wednesday 22 June 2016 Previous Next Rinky Dink still going strong as is Bruno Who leads us off on a repeat of the first walk he lead for S. Cots in 2002 Fields of long grass testing our waterproofs At least he has come over for a chat Walking through Hyde Park Farm Rather a puddle in our way We head uphill to avoid more water and mud Then down through the woods Over Cowcombe Hill And down a steep path Over the railway And down to Valley Corner and Bruno's old house, once a pub Along the canal Viaduct by Brunel A sort of goose Leaving the canal We head uphill Following the contours Then more woods Then fields of orchids Down to Trillis Along a quiet road Lunch on Whitehall Bridge Then through Siccaridge Woods to Daneway Banks More orchids The sign we have all been waiting for Looks quite smart Our path takes us through Sapperton Woods Good for a fry up? Back along the canal Over a precipitious bridge Through Westleigh Farm where we are seen off the property Past one of the holiday cottages Back to the car park.
