Cowcombe walk - Wednesday 14 August 2019 Previous Next All As you can see it's raining as we gather at the top of Cowcombe Hill And it will rain for most of the walk as we head across Westley Farm Looks a bit murky up the valley But are we downhearted? Yes. Especially as we head downhill and there are a couple of tumbles One of them is Keith * Malcolm's view of the proceedings Flat in the mud. But a ready made shower awaits And with some help from Sally he is soon cleaned up We now follow the canal, horses grazing in the valley To Whitehall Bridge Before walking through Siccaridge Wood And out onto Daneway Banks The Daneway Inn below us Then through Dorvel Wood, the stone commemorating the rebuilding of Dorvel Bridge in May 2008 Heading into Sapperton House with Victorian post box And Sapperton Church Another cottage Looking down into the valley Now in the woods of Sapperton - making summer of green leaves * Colin follows Malcolm through Sapperton Woods Nearly back As we follow a wide track along the top Followed by a short climb to the car park Photos and captions by Richard, uploaded by Sally * Plus a couple of photos by our leader Malcolm *, uploaded by Mike
