As we wait in the car park for the ten o'clock start
Our route takes us past Deerhurst House
And over one of many stiles
Past a large house
Cotswold Hills forming a backdrop to our walk
Farmers Arms not open yet
Our only climb
Giving us views down over the valley
Another queue to cross a stile
Gloucester Cattle - nearly extinct a few years ago but now increasing in numbers. Can be traced back to the 13th Century
Fritillary
Appleby
Where we sit on the villlage green
Sally finds a cat to talk to
Bluebells appearing
Down the side of a field
Followed by a muddy path
Before heading along an old canal - hidden by trees on our right is a drainage ditch
Don't think we are interested anyway
Where the Chelt meets the Severn
We are now going to follow the Severn Way
Wainlode Hill
Mistletoe in abundance
Ann poses in a hollow tree
An old gnarled oak (Graham B measured the circumference of the trunk and used the Woodland Trust calculation to work out that it is about 500 years old)
Another break, this time on the banks of the river
Setting off again
Following the river
Blossom everywhere
Not advisable to set sail in the boat
Eventually reaching our starting point and Odda's Church
