Eastcombe walk - Wednesday 4 March 2020 Previous Next All As Sue outlines her plan for her next walk Brian and Ann spring a surprise - Ann is going to lead The Lamb Inn behind us We set off up the valley with Lypiatt Park on the other side The remains of an old cottage Walking along the side of the valley Fortunately we don't need to use that stile Instead there is now a kissing gate taking us into mud Guinea fowls eye us suspiciously from the top of a wall Handy for telling the time when gardening Cricketty Mill in the valley and Bisley starting to appear As we head down to the valley bottom The Toadsmoor stream below And the highland ponies on the hillside Water gushing downhill The famous springs Now in Bisley With its stone cottages Unusual shops The high street Leaving the village we can see the church across the field As we follow a footpath, muddy in places The sign for the footpath covered in lichen Our path passes a stable yard Over a broken stile And on across fields Now following a headland Eventually back into Eastcombe Where some thoughtful villagers have planted flowers on the village green.
