Forest of Dean walk - Saturday 3 November 2018 Previous Next Deep in the forest something stirred - South Cots are here And Andrew leads us off along a forest track Means we need eyes in the back of our heads Ducks on Cannop Ponds We continue through the forest Reaching the end of the Ponds More wide forest tracks Plenty of Autumn colour Handy logs to sit on for coffee Then we are off again Eventually reaching Woorgreens Lake And Nature Reserve More colourful trees A small pond Cattle And Exmoor ponies And more handy logs to sit on for lunch Sun now helping with the colours And our route following a forest road A bat roost Followed by the site of the former Drybrook Road station More signs of the old railway A sign Now the Sculpture Trail Andrew stops to read a leaflet More beechwoods And our last sculpture Soon to be the site of a new sculpture by Natasha Rosling We pause at a view point Looking over the forest Then head back to the cars past the zip wire Photos and captions by Richard, uploaded by Sally
