Foston's Ash walk - Saturday 10 March 2018 Previous Next Bill and Penny are our leaders today We set off from Foston's Ash On the high or the low road Through a narrow wood Snow has fallen We now head across a wide lawned bridleway Winter ploughing has been completed We reach the road And start to pass snowdrifts Facing west (the snow came from the east) A very nice new gate We continue Heather is curious No one appears to be buried here A particularly extensive drift An economy measure - we now enter Lord's Wood, further on is Lady's Wood Gorse of course Coffee stop on Sheepscombe Common Belted Galloways are wintering in an adjacent field Yet more snowdrops Far end of Workman's Wood With a pleasant glade We make the long ascent Back to the pub. Some will walk eastwards later, others might be keen on the Six Nations Rugby. Photos, captions, processing and editing by Mike
