Foston's Ash walk - Saturday 16 February 2019 Previous Next Resplendent in colourful ski gloves Brian seems to be laying down the law Next a confrontation with John seems to provoke some amusement But we soon head off along the front of Fostons Ash Across a field Keith seems to have found a friend Briefly following a road Then down a steep slope into Cranham Woods Continuing through the Woods Then looking down on Cranham Village As we make our way over Cranham Common With its seat and quaint sign Cattle on the Common Carefully closing the gate as we leave the Common We make our way downhill through more woods With views back up the valley As we start to ascend we stop for coffee Our youth section A good crop of mistletoe Spread out up the hill One tree? Two trees? Heads appearing down the hill We wait for them to catch up Before continuing along the path to Ebworth National Trust Ebworth Centre Fox mosaic decorating a gateway The old folk striding out The Spirit of the Woods - Mike has a good look Before we continue on our way through Workmans Wood On a wide forest track Past an amazing tree Still at the back Then the long climb back up the valley Are we missing a party?
