Frampton Mansell walk - Wednesday 29 May 2019 Previous Next It's a miserable day We cross the railway line and join the path where horses show interest Down to the canal. Yellow flags coming out And reach the Daneway Is it raining or isn't it? We pass lovely gardens in Sapperton Then cross fields In a line Processing across to the A419 Through Hailey Wood to the Tunnel House Where the access road, potholed for decades, finally has tarmac The pub seems to be watering something, not sure what As we head for Tarlton, there are fields of wild flowers The sheep trying to keep dry We stop for lunch in St. Osmund's Chapel in Tarlton Where there are 4 stained glass windows By the artist Thomas Denny Who later designed the Ivor Gurney window in Gloucester Cathedral Outside there are non-working toilets that provide a bit of shelter And a very large Mexican orange Following a well marked path in the rain We encounter a line of sheep who run away But these seem very friendly as we return to Frampton Mansell Photos, captions and uploading by Sally
