Frampton-on-Severn leisurely walk - Monday 4 January 2016 Previous Next Ten of us are keen to get some fresh air in this very mild but wet winter It rains as we set off on Ann's walk from Frampton Brian spots three daffodils Plenty of firewood but not so cold at the moment We head off across the estate And by the lakes The manor in a spot of sunshine Anne avoids the very wet fields and leads us single file along roads Until we reach Walk Bridge, and the short section of the Stroudwater Canal awaiting to be joined up to The Ocean, soon we hope! Over the other side the busy marina And two ladders ready to help anyone in difficulties to get up out of the water We cross Junction Bridge and it immediately swings to let a boat through Getting near to coffee time So we pop in for a toasted teacake and real coffee! Still raining when we emerge We soldier on valiently A three point turn? Mike's brolly is excellent for use as a backmarker The Severn and the Forest - allegedly We cross the canal and spot our destination - Frampton with its church Our leader Anne and Ann pose Nearly there A quick couple of photos In the old church - George III's coat of arms Past the village hall We have had a good walk in spite of the weather Caption competition - what is Brian saying?
