King's Stanley walk - Saturday 23 February 2019 Previous Next A cold but sunny start in King's Stanley A prefab - is it listed? Past the village hall Still hazy looking over to Leonard Stanley church Even more misty on the hills As we get closer we can see the field is full of sheep Someone's got the barbecue out This sheep thinks it can't be seen We pass a dilapidated house with game outside But it must be lived in Convenient logs for coffee We discuss whether there is a trig point on the hill above, but it keeps disappearing in the mist Alex leads us into Coaley A queue at this stile - lots of stiles on this walk Not sure why this is at the bottom of the stile We cross a sports field Like a sculpture Still misty above us A new small housing development Across a large field of maize stalks And into Frocester for lunch Signs of spring - blossom And celandines We're nearing the end of the walk on a sunny wide track.
