King Stanley walk - Saturday 28 July 2018 Previous Next Before Alex kicks off, Sally tells us about Denys's son who is doing a charity swim Round a field of maize View over to Doverow and Standish Woods As we head up to the top And down into the valley The back markers coming down the hill Continuing on the Cotswold Way Then over to Ebley Mill To Victory Park for coffee Through Cashes Green Then downhill again Views down the valley to Frocester Hill and Cam Long Down Off again and round the pond in the valley While Alex picks blackberries Heading down towards Randwick School Thought skylarks were an endangered species And up a steep hill into Randwick Woods Out of the woods and looking down into the murky valley A queue forms for a slab stile A good crop of youngsters Then through the middle of a field of maize On the Cotswold Way under the Wycliffe College bridge Still on the Cotswold Way Waiting to greet us We set off across fields on the Cotswold Way Pausing at the point where the two arms of the Cotswold Way meet then taking the Selsley path And back to the Stanleys Views over the Severn Heading towards Selsley Church Waiting at the bottom Towards the by-pass Across the canal Ready to go again And up to Bread Street and Ruscombe And back up through Whiteshill Before our lunch stop and a chance to buy coffee at the village store Olivia demonstrates the fact that she can get through a narrow stile We approach Randwick across a cricket pitch We might make some friends here Through the church yard A bit of a play area Stonehouse immediately below And we make our way down to Far Westrip Farm Views across to Kingscourt and Rodborough Common.
