Laurie Lee walk - Wednesday 5 July 2017 Previous Next Sally leading. Ros back marking And off we go down into the valley Along a broad track Must be that way The sun shining through the trees We pass a small pond And head uphill Then down into the Dillay Valley Through some dense undergrowth Notice on stile tells us to close the gate. Confused? We folllow the side of the valley Then downhill again Through fields of flowers Reaching the stream at the bottom Where we take a break By the Nature Reserve Hut Then a gentle slope takes us into the woods As we look across to Tom George's Racing Yard Enjoying a bit of shade Slad Church hiding in the trees Is that one of the new hybrid cars? Looking back at Elcombe Then into the Laurie Lee Nature Reserve Up through the woods A rather sad seat Out onto Swifts Hill Back down again With views down the valley to Stroud and beyond Beautiful orchids Now heading towards Slad A short climb Past another pond Slad across the valley Cattle grazing peacefully Around the pond in the valley A pause as we make our way uphill A colourful meadow As we head back to our starting point Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
