Luckington walk - Saturday 13 May 2017 Previous Next John is preparing for his walk but something seems to have distracted everyone Goff moves over to get a better look Yes, a customer for the shop has got herself wedged in rather tight and is in danger of hitting John's car - oh dear! But all's well that ends well and we leave Luckington past this impressive floral display Up the road sweeping past a herd of dogs Then taking to the fields Round the edge of one Then following the path down into a small valley Then up the other side Stile recently refurbished by the Wardens - farmer still prefers a strand of barbed wire Continuing across fields Now entering Sopworth - plants for sale And up a narrow alley to the church Must have been a good party What is it with swings? Didmarton across the fields We stop for coffee at the church Time to relax Someone thinks it's funny Sheep may safely graze As we continue across fields Past a herd of white horses Now walking along The infant Avon A stop to eat John's cake Off again and Ann shows how to get over this stile The clapper bridge over the Avon at Sherston As we approach the knicker elastic factory Something to do with a bumblebee I believe! Into Sherston - pretty tulips Then crossing over the river Before walking through a nature reserve Eventually reaching a road Past the ford as we enter Brookend And walk through the village Sherston Church Our route takes us through the churchyard Then back up the road to the cars Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
