Malverns walk - Saturday 26 August 2017 Previous Next Finding the car park has tested some of our navigational skills to the full but eventually 19 of us get there on time To meet Sally and Enid for our walk advertised as fairly hilly and to which to everyone's surprise turns out to be fairly hilly Heading uphill to start Nearing the top with views towards Brecon And immediately beginning our descent On a nice grassy track Could be edible - any volunteers? Down past St Ann's Well tearooms. Being refurbished Now on a tarmac drive as we continue our descent Into Great Malvern - yes there were 99 steps Famous Malvern sculpture Down into town No garden should be without them We start to climb back up looking down on Malvern with Worcester in the distance Another part of Malvern As we round the hill we look up the valley to Shropshire And up the Malverns As we follow the path round the hill Now on the Western side and back to the Car Park For lunch And to meet Alex And Peter whose navigational skills let them down in finding the car park As we resume our walk uphill we spot other recreational activities The large house in the valley is a conference centre for the Elim Pentecostal church Reaching the top of Worcestershire Beacon Highest point in the Malverns where we gather round the topograph Down to the junction of paths Then it's downhill heading towards Malvern But branching off at St Ann's Well having stopped at the pop up tea tent Circling the hill to Earnslaw Lake Hidden in the hilllside Then back up to the top And down to the car park - yes, it is the West of England Quarry car park Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
