Monday 24 April 2017 - Cliff paths, Donkey Sanctuary and birthdays Previous Next Booting up to do some proper walking We head along the Sid past the ford And start our climb to the east With views of Sidmouth behind us Woods full of bluebells The birthday girls fulfill an ambition to lie on a carpet of bluebells (no bluebells were killed in the making of this film) But soon catch up Looking along the coast Lyme Bay stretches out in front The Frog Stone As we look down into the valley The view inland The start of our descent With frequent glances behind As we reach the bottom And start climbing again And down again On the South West Coast Path Purple Gromwell Fording a stream at the bottom A nudist beach - although sunny, a bit too cold to see any Making for Branscombe Art by the pathside A lizard poses for the camera Another view behind us On to the Donkey Sanctuary Not a lot of grass for him This one is 23 years old and prefers a salt lick Garden with a nautical theme Past the famous thorn tree More bluebells Continuing along a narrow lane Into Sidmouth - bottles protecting some sharp spikes Back to the hotel for birthday celebrations Complete with cakes And the two birthday girls pose again Tucking into cake The music room/church at the hotel And a water feature in the grounds Housed in this unusual stucture More views of the grounds And a giant's seat Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
