Monday 24 April 2017 - Cliff paths east and Donkey Sanctuary shorter walk Previous Next Our first walk from the Sidholme Hotel at Sidmouth And the day dawns brightly As we set off across the lawns With our leader Bill We watch cars fording the river Lovely skies this morning Down by the harbour Climbing up the coast path We pause to take in the view Through a host of bluebells And delightful dappled light Now across the cliff top And down again We spot the other group setting off up the next ascent And now it's our turn The crumbling cliffs More flat fields on the top And some lively Exmoor ponies charging around We follow an up and down route To reach the Donkey Sanctuary Still a bit of climbing After a stop for food we find donkeys across the fields We are the star attraction! Back we go inland Steeply down to the Sid Valley Running quietly today Over the river and back. Photos, captions, processing and uploading by Mike
