Oakridge walk - Saturday 14 July 2018 Previous Next Oakridge village green Backmarker does a crash course in map reading Dave getting ready to go And we head off downhill Through a small copse where the natives fortunately are friendly Back into the open Pressing on down into the valley And over a stream Uphill on a wide track Round a fallen tree Passing beneath an isolated house Into woods and once more heading downhill The sun shines through the trees Reaching the bottom of the hill we spot this sign Part of the water meadow referred to Bakers Mil at the end Swan on the mill pond Continuing along the canal Looking up the valley Wild geraniums Still on the canal Whitehall Bridge Now up into Siccaridge Wood Some sort of campanula On through the woods Till we arrive at the Daneway Across Daneway Banks - more thistles Is this thyme? Spread out along the valley Daneway Banks seat Another valley Our path taking us through grassy meadows More wild flowers A pause in Far Oakridge Then back across the fields To Oakridge Past the village smithy back to the cars Photos and captions by Richard, uploaded by Sally
