Old Sodbury walk - Wednesday 8 August 2018 Previous Next Ann turns up with a cucumber producing a number of innuendo laden remarks unsuitable for the ears and eyes of our more sensitive readers We are outside the lych gate of Old Sodbury Church Gathering for our walk To be led by Derek Our route takes us out of Old Sodbury With views down to the Severn Valley Dave was quick to get this picture of a grass snake on his phone Then uphill to a hill fort A pause to re-group Then a short road walk takes us past a sort of memorial to Diana A herd of sheep leaving their coats behind It is pointed out that the markings on the road to indicate potholes look like a meerkat Now through woods Church peeping out from behind trees As we take in the views over the valley Horses too busy eating to take any notice of a herd of Ramblers All is safely gathered in Back on the top of the hill Then down past the Owl House Worth a closer look Another steep descent Followed by a steep climb with a rest at the top The church at Horton with its references to William Tyndal Then a long climb to the Church at Old Sodbury Soon reaching the top Time for a sit down And take in the views over to Chipping Sodbury Then out through the graveyard and back to the cars Wonder if these two in the church porch are members of Ramblers?
