Painswick to Paradise walk - Saturday 17 March 2018 Previous Next Olivia briefs us on our quite hilly walk And we set off through Painswick For sale, anyone fancy it? Handy for the parish church We pass the Quaker meeting house And after a while See the old Quaker burial ground in the countryside We head along Longridge With heather blooming Briefly joining the Wysis Way An amazing sight Like cogs on a wheel Like Brian's hat! We shoo the cattle off the path And then wade through the mud they have churned up We reach Olivers where the water is cascading into the ruin The mill pond up above Steeply up we climb With a view to Damsells Farm Plenty of mistletoe We descend towards Paradise The deer leave us to it Further down Then up steeply through Paradise Passing an area of smaller wild daffodils And into the lane over a stile Quite by chance we meet Christine and Brian (our former chair) An interesting garden And another We pass three locals Before crossing the A46 and climbing on to the golf course Then returning to the cars Photos, captions, processing and uploading by Mike
