Painswick walk - Saturday 12 January 2019 Previous Next Painswick Walkers car park. Are they looking apprehensive? We head down into the valley then back up to Bulls Cross Down past Trillgate Farm with its dovecote A steep drop into another valley then back up again Watched by a flock of sheep Down to the Dillay Brook Where we stop for coffee The reserved seats Looking back up to Snows Farm And down the valley to Slad In deference to bearded ladies everywhere, old persons' beard Over a stile into the woods Following the valley round to reach the Laurie Lee Nature Reserve We walk through the reserve To come out to Swifts Hill where we have views down the Severn Valley And over to Slad A steep descent Nearing the bottom Our route takes us past this pond Group photo More water at Steanbridge With its cafe - as usual closed On uphill where we are accosted by a guard goose Determined to stop us Well I won't let him past! Back uphill and over the top To look down on Painswick Back to the bottom where we start our last long climb Some snowdrops to help us on our way And a spring by the side of the road As we head back through the town Photos and captions by Richard, uploaded by Sally
