Painswick walk - Saturday 16 March 2019 Previous Next Lawrence has chosen Stamages Lane CP as our starting point And we head out through the Churchyard Looking at the weather forecast we are tempted to spend the morning in Church Through the narrow streets of Painswick My kind of cat Primroses show spring is imminent Now making our way down into the valley Our progress being closely monitored by Devon Reds The Painswick stream gurgles down in the valley Having just cascaded over a waterfall Past Tocknells Court And another landmark Still following the Painswick stream And farmhouses nestling in the bottom of the valley as we make our way uphill More signs of Spring Stopping for coffee on Cranham Common Downhill out of Cranham Carefully over the stream at the bottom Then an uphill climb To Coopers Hill Nature Reserve Where we follow a woodland track Don't think they will be any good for the car Round the bottom of Painswick Beacon The wind has been busy at Catbrain (didn't know they had one) Quarry Heading towards the Walkers CP Some doubt cast as to the veracity of the sign on the garage door The last stretch back into Painswick Past the lych gate and back to the car park Photos and captions by Richard, uploaded by Sally
