Painswick walk via Pitchcombe, Edge Common, Cud Hill - Saturday 25 June 2016 Previous Next John, resplendent in yellow high viz, leads us out through Painswick And along the Painswick stream Some get through, some have a bit of a squeeze Pitchcombe Church across the valley As we make our way steeply up Into the village Must be the manor Big water feature Now what are they looking at? A tree We start to climb above Pitchcombe A rose between two thorns Our route takes us into Pitchcombe Woods Where we look across the valley As we head round the hillside Looking across to Painswick Over Edge Common Where things are pretty wild Lunch on top of Hudinknoll Hill Looks like a wedding Painswick Beacon towering above us As we climb up Cud Hill with the Blow family monument A bit of a storm in the valley We walk round the bottom of the Beacon Then follow the Cotswold Way through Catbrain Quarry back to the car park. As we make our way back to the cars. Photos and captions by Richard, processed by Sally and uploaded by Mike
