Painswick walk - Wednesday 1 November 2017 Previous Next A beautiful day but only 11 of us for Franceska's Painswick walk But at least we don't have to pay for the parking as the Stamages Lane meter is lying on the ground We pass this house on the Cotswold Way which seems to have been in the process of being built for years But from the other side you can see how massive it is Geraniums We follow the Cotswold Way past this historic marker And look back on where we have come from Painswick church in the distance A good spot for coffee Arabian horse, I'm told Love the plaits There's also a zebra This is where they are Is it a tree, a telegraph pole, a climbing route? Cromwell's stone Not very legible The doll in the barn is still here Gloucester Old Spot and geese And Javelin Park We head up into the sunlight And spot an orange hang-glider Also a blue one The blue is coming into land Just in front of us While the orange one circles above us He must have amazing views, but it's a long way down After watching them for a while, we continue on our way Strange place to find a car seat We cross Haresfield Beacon Where people find interesting spots for lunch Watched by the cattle Along the path to Bird in Hand past the alpacas Autumn trees Looking down over Pitchcombe With colourful berries Olivia finds a very friendly kitten (left over from Halloween perhaps) It gets a stroke on the nose from Franceska We pass this amazing house And head up through the cows towards Sheephouse Panda eyes This one thinks we can't see it This one has had its horns cut And mother and baby sit together We head back to Painswick Another reminder of what went on the night before.
