Karen welcomes us to Purton after we have all navigated a diversion due to road works!
We set off by the church
Up the field with views behind us to the Severn
After walking through several fields of crops, we spot Sharpness Docks
And pass along a high path overlooking them
A memorial to the former sailing ship Vindicatrix, a base for training boys as deck hands and stewards from 1939 to 1966. 70,000 boys were trained here.
Wild roses flourishing on the banks of the river
A happy family
A wait to see if a reed or sedge warbler could be spotted - but no luck.
Just before we arrive back, we spot the two Willow Trust boats and their guests enjoying the sunshine on the bank near Purton.
