Rodborough Common walk - Saturday 9 July 2016 Previous Next What is Keith doing in the car park on Rodborough Common? Copying the poster in this car. No mention of Yoga for Ramblers. Perhaps we don't need it. Nine on Catherine's walk We set off across the common With good views of Stroud On the Jubilee Bridge on the canal We cut through to the London Road by this strangely-named building, which Alex tells me used to be a pub No wonder kids can't spell or write! We can look back to where we started Teasels look good Into the woods above the London Road The sheep suddenly all race off in the same direction as the farmer and his dog appear Wild strawberries Water lilies on the lake at Toadsmoor We follow the stream into the woods Banks of rock roses And lady's bedstraw At Bismore Farm this ram looks up from his dish The new/clean roof makes this house very visible Two of us slip on this wet, newly cut grassy path Might have been an orchard once Very tranquil spot With a lovely fuchsia At Brimscombe Port We ascend up towards Bownham Common where we stop by this rose Keith finds this cat (see photo from Thursday evening 7 July - same boots and trousers, different cat) Seems to like a bit of fuss As does another member of its family. We then continue uphill, moaning about the humidity, to the car park. Photos, captions and processing by Sally, uploaded by Mike
