Sapperton, Tunley and Edgeworth walk - Wednesday 4 May 2016 Previous Next A sunny morning as we gather outside Sapperton Church Mike tells us about our walk into the gulch of the river Frome. We reach the bottom And climb up through Dorvel Wood Toothwort, a parasitic plant feeding off tree roots Masses of bluebells this season Nice to get the climb over early Wood anenomes, celandines and bluebells Spring flowers in the border Including cowslips Lots more growing wild We follow an open path at Tunley With excellent views Cherry blossom Dunno these And arrive in Edgeworth for our break Inside the church A lovely carpet And tapestries Edgeworth claims to be the remotest place in the Cotswolds. Passing through the grounds of Edgeworth Manor We climb up past Duntisbourne House with its Victorian postbox And pass these grand trees on Dark Ride The adjacent drive leads to Pinbury Park With the large pond Lively black sheep and their lambs The house itself We return past yet more bluebells Until the church comes into view.
