Sapperton walk - Saturday 26 May 2018 Previous Next A gloomy day but Colin is ready to lead us off after greeting a few new faces Looks like fun Lots of calves out with their mums They can't all be hers How cute! No wonder he looks tired We see Pinbury Park across the valley As we make our way Round the pond Watched from on high Meanwhile the sheep are below on the valley slopes A pause for Jill to explain the history of Pinbury Park Then we descend To the ford Before climbing into the woods Lichen on some old logs Now out of the woods and into a field of buttercups Mother and foal enjoying the buttercups Another foal And getting ready for the polo season Our path now takes us towards Edgeworth Imagine a sheep slipping out of a straight jacket Now along the side of another valley Over a stile Is this self-heal someone? Looking downhill No we haven't decided to allow cats on walks Along the driveway of Tunley House A short climb through a cottage garden And over to Daneway Banks looking down on Daneway House We stop for lunch A rather splendid seat for some Commemorating the visit of Prince Charles A look back along Daneway Banks A quick look at an information board and most of the group head for Siccaridge Woods Others find an alternative route back Past the Daneway Portal And up the valley To Sapperton Photos and captions by Richard, uploaded by Sally
