Sheepscombe walk - Wednesday 6 September 2017 Previous Next Jill studies her notes as we meet outside the Butchers Arms in Sheepscombe Quite a crowd Looks a bit threatening So we hurry down the hill But they just want to join us Continuing up the other side of the valley we have views of Sheepscombe Personalised number plate Named after the house. Or was the house named after the car number? We continue along the side of the valley Looking across to Painswick A farm entrance with a sculpture of a fox And a pond And a Quaker Burial Ground Then we head down into the valley Past Lovedays Mill After coffee we follow the Painswick stream up valley Now at Damsells Mill A level path for a while Mill pond now just mud We start to climb Now the footpath is diverted round this house Another use for an old log More wood carvings Views of Sheepscome across the valley As we head up into the woods A pause at the top Our route then taking us across Sheepscombe Common and back to the village Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
