Dave is ready. No women on this walk? One minute to go and Sue arrives
We make our way along the top of the hill
Then into the woods where the lack of ladies is immediately apparent
With lots of calm intelligent discussion
Crossing fields out of Dursley towards Uley
Downham Hill and Cam Long Down off to our left
On up the valley
Looking out through the trees as we enter the woods
And climb steadily uphill
Graham waxes lyrical when we spot a Redwood tree
Pausing at the top to watch the stragglers catch up
Coffee stop - seats provided by farmer
A sinister looking pond
Perhaps he had been drinking from it
Continuing along the top of the hill
Before we start our descent
Into the valley
The slip fence an easier alternative to the stile
Time for lunch
With some colourful socks on view
Attempts to identify a foreign language on a signpost provide a topic for conversation
