Stow on the Wold walk - Wednesday 4 September 2019 Previous Next All Only walking a couple of minutes and already Keith is digging stones out of his boot We stop at a Stow spring for Jill to take a closer look And then tell us all about it We then head into Broadwell Where they tend to commemorate things With lumps of rock At least the pub looks good And the houses look solid Out into open country again Distant views of distant hills Another typical Cotswold house With a dubious water supply South Cots lead the Royalist retreat from the Battle of Stow Commemorated on top of the hill That's what we like to see Not sure about that Donnington Brewery Hay drying out Village on top of the hill And view across the fields A dairy apparently And inside Pond with geese After a pause for lunch we stop to drag some of our number out of the pub Mission accomplished Topiary - maybe a bird On through the village Wayside flowers Now on a wide track Over a stream Strange looking sheep Who follow us across the field Strange looking photograher?
