Stroud circular walk - Saturday 22 July 2017 Previous Next Flower display in Stratford Park As we head downhill Over the stream Hawkwood College nestling in the trees View over to Whiteshill A farm down in the valley We always stop here Before continuing downhill Past some strange sheep Deep into the valley Over a stile Past the badger posts Rustic gate Large house down in the valley Climbing up Swifts Hill Then contouring round We emerge from the nature reserve Curious Tamworths A breather below Fennells Farm Giffords Circus is on the road, so cattle are in their field An Edward VII letter box Walking towards Round Elm Views to the River Severn And Rodborough A good spot for lunch, apart from the flies! Setting off again Down through a field of ragwort Looking over to Bownham On the canal path Jill and Sue leave us We cross over Jubilee Bridge Then over the railway A pause when we reach Butterow Lane And our next stop is the ice cream factory Interesting to watch the efforts of owners trying to coax a large dog into a car Then we have more views across Doverow and the Severn from Rodborough Common Now heading along the canal Through Stroud The Ecotricity building in the background And, as the rain sets in, we cross the new bridge and head back to the start Photos by Richard, captions by Richard and Sally, processed and uploaded by Sally
