Temple Guiting walk - Saturday 25 November 2017 Previous Next We have travelled to the frozen north of Gloucestershire Temple Guiting village hall Jill leads us out through the village Pausing at the church for a latecomer to catch up A quick look over the wall of a large house Got their priorities right in this village Now heading out into open country Crossing some racing gallops Past a small herd of Jacobs sheep Bright and sunny as we continue through horse paddocks Then an avenue of trees Over a bridge installed by the Cotswold Wardens To reach Cutsdean Church Sheep may safely gaze Looking back across the valley to Cutsdean As we pause for coffee We pass a quarry looking like the surface of the moon And continue along a broad track on the Cotswold Way A short diversion to take in the views to the West And North Before rejoining the Cotswold Way Posing in front of the Cromwell seat Monument Monument without posers Down the Cotswold Way More sheep not gazing Winchcome nestling between the hills Entering Foxcote past the herb farm specialising in chillis And on to the church for lunch Memorial plaques to Enry and Ary in the church Our path takes us between two old settlements Past some stone carvings, a turtle And a grasshopper After which we follow a road Back to the start Photos and captions by Richard, processed and uploaded by Sally
